Aryaman ~means ‘bosom friend.’ In common parlance, it means noble minded, aristocratic or refers to the Sun. Literally it means ‘the bright sun light behind God.’ Aryaman is one of the earlier Devas or Vedic deities. He is said to be the third-born of Aditi, Therefore he is Aditya, implying a solar deity. Sometimes Aryaman and Surya is interchangeably used to refer to the Sun God.
